With dual Master’s degrees in Food Science and Business Management, and a BSc in Agriculture, Mr. Khalid leads AFSA’s work in food safety systems, regulatory frameworks, and integrated food system development. He brings over a decade of experience in training, assessment, and policy development. 

Sayed Samiullah Hakimi

Climate-Smart Agriculture & Production Expert

Dr. Hakimi holds a PhD in Horticulture, an MSc in Post-Harvest Technology, and a BSc in Horticulture. He specializes in sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural production, contributing deep knowledge of crop systems, post-harvest handling, and resource-efficient farming techniques.

Shukrullah Sherzad

Food System, Agribusiness & Value Chain Expert

Mr. Sherzad holds a Master’s in Food Identity and Business and a BSc in Agricultural Economics. He focuses on agribusiness development, food value chain analysis, and local food systems, with a strong background in rural entrepreneurship and market-based solutions.

Dr. Jamal Sediqi

Project Management & Legal Expert

Mr. Sediqi brings legal and project management expertise with an MA in Law and BA in Law. He supports AFSA’s governance, compliance, and implementation of complex development programs, ensuring accountability and strategic alignment.

Dr. Mansoor Sediqi

Nutrition, Food Systems & One Health Expert

Dr. Sediqi holds an MD and MBA, with extensive expertise in nutrition, public health, and the One Health approach, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health. He leads AFSA’s work on nutrition-sensitive agriculture and interdisciplinary food system initiatives, ensuring that food safety and health outcomes are interconnected and equitable.

Abdul Satar Ahmadzai

Food Science & Value Chain Expert

With a BSc in Horticulture and MSc in Food Science, Mr. Ahmadzai brings deep technical knowledge in post-harvest management, processing, and value chain development. He specializes in enhancing the efficiency and profitability of agricultural value chains, particularly for perishable and high-value crops.

Sayed Hassib Shams

Agricultural M&E and Rural Development Expert

Mr. Shams holds a BSc in Agronomy and an MBA, with a strong background in monitoring and evaluation, agricultural development, and rural livelihoods. He leads the design and implementation of M&E systems that support data-driven decision-making, accountability, and adaptive learning in rural development projects.

Aziz Jamalzai

Finance & Accounting Expert

Mr. Jamalzai holds a BSc and MSc in Accounting, as well as an MBA, and serves as AFSA’s lead expert in financial management. He provides strategic financial oversight, budgeting, and compliance support for development programs, ensuring financial transparency and efficient resource use.
